The Ropes

The Ropes make a triumphant return with this incredible lil piece of wax. Herein they dish out six tracks of filthy, lo-fi hardcore the way it's supposed to be done. Aaron's voice sounds better than ever. The vocals on "Valium Cocoon" literally send shivers down my spine. These tracks are definitely faster than the ones featured on the demo. Let's just say you could slap the name "THE REPOS" on the cover and no one would know the difference. Do yourself a big favor and get this.

School Jerks

This is by far the best School Jerks release yet. The vocals are so incredibly snotty, they make me want to spit in my teacher's face and burn down my school, not to mention the treble-ridden, hollowed out guitar tone accompanying said ferocity. The opening cut, entitled "Screamer," sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the record with its fucking head-pounding breaks. Every track on this is a total rager, I promise.

Criaturas

This band fucking rips! Criaturas is a female-fronted hardcore band hailing from Austin, Texas. The vocals are astoundingly distinct in the respect that they go from screaming and yelling to straight out singing at some parts. In addition to this, all the lyrics are in Spanish (WHICH FUCKING RULES). The songs on here are heavily influenced by 80s hardcore, and I sense a hint of D-Beat here and there. Really fucking great stuff, I highly recommend it.

Amdi Petersens Armé

So let me preface this entry by saying that I am truly sorry for the lack of posting. My life has gotten rather hectic lately with school/moving out/all my bands. Posting will gradually start to pick up, I PROMISE. And what better way to make a comeback with the best Danish hardcore band ever? Amdi Petersens Armé (RIP) delivers some RAGING 80's influenced hardcore with quite a fuckin attitude. Their second and final EP, Blod Ser Mere Virkeligt Ud På Film, definitely packs more of a punch than their earlier material, but all of it is equally as killer. These guys date back to the late 90's/early 2000's. Absolutely, positively my current favorite band. I seriously don't want to talk to you if you don't get all of this right fucking now.
